4cups (1020 g)apple pie filling(see notes below to make your own)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375℉.
Mix softened butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl.
Add flour, salt and baking soda and powder. Mix together well. It should look crumbly.
Put about 1/2 of the mixture in a 9x13 pan. Press down flat with a spoon or fingers.
Spread the pie filling evenly over the crust.
Add remaining crumbles to the top of the pie filling.
Bake about 25-30 minutes until the top is starting to get light brown.
Cool completely before serving.
Notes
Instead of canned apple pie filling, try making your own! When I made this, I took homemade apple sauce and added cinnamon, sugar and cloves to it until it tasted the way I wanted. The bars cut better without the larger chunks of apple as well.
