Hello friend!
Have you ever wrestled a piglet?
Not a big one, just a wee one.
Last week, there was a tiny piglet in the barn that was being pushed aside by his much larger siblings. He probably would not have made it (it looks like it had been awhile since his last regular meal… 😯) so he is in the kitchen as a “house pig”. He has is own warm box, but regularly, we let him out to move around more and play with the kids.
The cat as also decided he’s great fun to play with.
(And yes, I mean WITH…🙄)
Right now, Meatball is quite a lot larger than the little pig so it’s kind of a one-sided wrestling match. Luckily Meatball is not rough and the pig sort of “plays possum” when the cat goes into a full body hold…which bores the cat so he jumps up and runs away.)
I wonder what will happen when the pig is 50lbs?
(We may never find out….I would rather not have a 50lb pig in our kitchen…😉)
Along with baby pigs, I have the next batch of layer chickens growing up fast too. They generally aren’t as exciting as the pigs, but this video that was taken by one of our kids brings out a little humor that goes along with the curiosity of chickens…😊
Impatient for summer?
If you can pull your grill or smoker out of the snow, try this recipe for chops – so good on a smoker!!
From all of us here at Piggery Run Farm, with 2 feet or 4 feet,
we wish you a belated Happy St. Patrick’s Day! 😘
