Oh the food

Who here loves to eat? 🙋‍♀️

Not just a “I’ll just have a half piece of toast for breakfast” sort of thing.  More like….”stalking recipe websites and then making way more than what people can eat so I can revel in the leftovers in the fridge” kind of thing.

Guilty. 🤦‍♀️

This obsession with delicious food has added more pounds to my waistline than I’d care to admit (and the endless, not always successful, plan of removing them…) but in general, I just can’t give it up.

What’s life without preparing and eating oh so delicious food once in awhile? 😋

A few years ago, someone introduced me to some Berkshire pork. I’d had homegrown pork before, but this was off-the-charts delicious.  Like, was the other pork even from the same kind of animal??

(One time, due to lack of time and general forgetfulness, I threw a Berkshire loin into the crock pot and forgot to add any seasonings or sauces to it.  Conventionally grown pork loins typically are very lean and usually this would have resulted in block of flavorless meat, but the Berkshire saved the day with a tender, flavor-filled crock pot full of meat!  And saved the meal too, since we ended up having a guest that day as well. 😲)

Well, I was hooked. I wanted to raise no other breed of pig than this.

Why waste my time with an animals that are only “ok” when I can get one that’s “oh so melt in your mouth”?  🤔 🥰
